omesti-foster- moore

As governments and regulatory bodies around the ASEAN region push to achieve greater transparency across the corporate landscape, OMESTI Berhad of Malaysia and Foster Moore International of New Zealand are teaming up to deploy Foster Moore’s proprietary electronic registry solution, Catalyst™, across ASEAN and beyond.

The tie-up will help deliver this transparency through a unified digital business registration and reporting platform. The Catalyst™ solution brings cost-savings and operational efficiencies, while complying with local statutory legislation. Key advantages also include improved data access, enhanced functionality and streamlined operations for agencies and end-users alike. To date, the solution has been deployed in multiple territories across the globe including North America, Africa, the Middle East, Labuan and of course New Zealand.

Under the partnership between these two leading technology specialists, OMESTI has been selected as Foster Moore’s implementation partner for ASEAN and emerging markets. Territories include but are not limited to Singapore, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Myanmar and Malaysia.

Gerard Monteiro, Executive Director, OMESTI Berhad, said, “As stakeholders everywhere push for greater transparency and access to corporate information, the implementation of such a robust solution like Catalyst™ will transform the business landscape. We are honoured to have been selected to work alongside Foster Moore to bring this proven technology to South East Asia and emerging markets.”

Joel Foster, Chief Executive of Foster Moore, said, “We are delighted to partner OMESTI. We are impressed with their skillset, experience and culture. Their track record in areas such as eCOURTS, in Malaysia, demonstrates their ability to work with clients to improve service delivery through the application of software. Our long-term strategy is to deliver our Catalyst™ solution through trusted partners, globally. These partners bring local experience, expertise and enable clients to get a powerful product and local support.”

Matt Ritchie, Trade Commissioner, New Zealand Trade & Enterprise, added, “In 2017, New Zealand and Malaysia are celebrating 60 years of diplomatic relations. This anniversary is a chance to reflect on what we have achieved together and look forward to a vibrant partnership in the future. The tie-up between Foster Moore and OMESTI is a good example of the promising future ahead.”

Catalyst™ provides a generic database structure for multiple registries and seamlessly handles configuration, mapping, workflow and integration. Master templates provide configurable sets of online forms, business rules and workflows that are typical of the majority of statutory registries. This reduces the time and cost of implementation significantly.

Catalyst™ administers core functionality and access to shared services such as “search, content and document management, payment, reporting and security“ to deliver integrated, end-to-end solutions.

A typical project involves the deployment of an integrated business registry management solution in full compliance with local statutory requirements. This enables digital management of the entire process of company registration, statutory filing and other corporate reporting. Data capture is provided over a secure, scalable platform and a powerful on-board data analytics module provides management dashboard, customer insights and statistical analysis.

OMESTI’s track record in the region dates back over 30 years during which time the Group has successfully designed and executed multiple large-scale and complex technology projects for government departments and private sector clients. These include the integrated digital court infrastructure platforms for Malaysia and Brunei, data centres for the Malaysian Government, transport and logistics scheduling systems for the energy sector, core banking and insurance platforms for the leading financial institutions, and more.

In recent years, the Group has tied up with several partners to add further technology solutions to its portfolio for both enterprise and SME markets. These include digital Human Capital Management, Intelligent Video Analytics, As-A-Service Accounting and others.

Cloud Solutions Gain Traction With Malaysian Law Firms

Cloud technology is working to help law firms ease their document management, corporate accounting and talent management responsibilities. At the recent Malaysian Bar Council AGM, #Omesti and sister company #Microlink teamed up to showcase a range of as-a-service solutions to the 500+ members of the legal fraternity present.

#ORION, #Account365 and #HCMCloud, which are available on a per user subscription basis, are part of the Group’s portfolio of cloud-based solutions designed to help businesses operate seamlessly.

“ORION provides a highly secure, smart environment in which to store, search, retrieve and share critical documents. It comes without the costs and inherent risks of conventional warehousing and storage options,” says Elwin Lim, of Microlink’s Enterprise Solutions business. It is particularly relevant for businesses that generate large volumes of bulk documents such as law firms and government departments.

A key advantage is that critical documentation is no longer at risk from a range of physical threats including theft, damage or destruction by fire, flood or vermin and general deterioration. “The arduous process, not to mention cost, of cataloguing, packing and transporting documents to an offsite warehouse is not required. Time-consuming searches for key documents that might be inadequately recorded and filed are also eliminated,” says Mr Lim.

Scanned documents are tagged and indexed then uploaded to a highly secure auto-encrypted cloud platform. Authorised users can then easily perform intuitive searches, share and collaborate on specific documents. http://bit.ly/ORION-OMESTI1099

HCM Cloud, developed by OMESTI technology partner Microimage, is designed to help HR professionals and senior execs take the entire HR lifecycle into the digital era. The HCM Cloud platform is also accessible over mobile, providing an intuitive experience for management to understand the talent dynamics of the organisation via a powerful analytics capability. http://bit.ly/omesti1089

Account365 rolls accounting, GST and inventory functions into a single platform. As a cloud-based, fully GST-compliant solution, it provides businesses with instant access over any device, including mobile, to accounting, inventory and business information in one secure place. http://bit.ly/OMESTI-1131

OMESTI Wins Project To Develop SSM XBRL Financial Reporting Platform

Logo Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia (SSM)

The OMESTI Group has been awarded a key project by Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia [SSM] – the Companies Commission of Malaysia – that is set to provide an invaluable source of data on the Malaysian corporate landscape and transform the role of the SSM as a regulatory authority.

Valued in the order of RM17 million [seventeen million ringgit], the project was awarded to Omesti Group company Formis Network Services Sdn Bhd and forms part of a comprehensive re-engineering of the SSM online infrastructure to an XBRL domain.

The project will see the development and deployment of a new XRBL online document submission platform to enable companies to file annual returns and audited accounts electronically. The initiative will enable SSM to capture critical financial information and other key data from registered companies, to provide powerful analytical insights into the Malaysian business landscape.

OMESTI Group Executive Director Ms Mah Xian-Zhen said, “The new XBRL SSM platform will automate the process of data collection, transform the submission of statutory reports by registered entities and enable data consumers to analyse company information. This will change the way data can be captured and shared by SSM and will significantly enhance its standing as a resource for vital corporate insights.”

The initiative will also drive transparency and improve the efficiency of capital markets by enabling analysts and other users to search and find relevant facts easily. “We are proud to be playing our part in this important project as SSM embarks on its transformation journey to become a top tier registry and regulatory authority in the region,” she added.

The platform will run on XBRL (eXtensible Business Reporting Language) enabling submitted documents to be XBRL-compliant, allowing business information to be exchangeable among regulators, including tax and financial authorities, central banks and governments. XBRL is a global standard used to electronically exchange business information.

The project scope includes the supply, implementation, training, support and maintenance of the SSM online submission system. In addition to the development, design, deployment and operation of a robust XBRL taxonomy, the workscope includes the sourcing and management of suitable infrastructure to ensure high availability and instant disaster recovery.

A key component of the project scope will be change management to ensure full promotion of the system and training for all parties concerned. Technical and call centres operated by professional engineers, technicians and call service executives will provide ongoing support for users.

The project begins immediately and is due for completion by December 2017.

OHANA National Squash Championships Reach Thrilling Conclusion

Squash

The OHANA 2016 National Squash Championships brought some thrilling action during the Semi-Finals and Finals at the National Squash Centre in Bukit Jalil as existing champions Mohd Nafiizwan Adnan and Delia Arnold fended off strong challenges to retain their titles.

In the Semis, Mohd Addeen Idrakie, who had stunned three-time winner Ong Beng Hee in the quarter-finals, put up a good fight against National No 2 Ivan Yuen but in the end was overpowered.

In the men’s final, national No. 1 Nafiizwan was stretched by Yuen before prevailing 11-8, 8-11, 12-10, 11-8 after a gruelling 77 minutes of play.

In the women’s competition, like Nafiizwan, national No. 2 Delia Arnold was also made to work hard for an 11-9, 11-2, 11-9 win over Low Wee Wern in the final, a victory which she secured in 54 minutes.

The trophies and prize money were presented to the winners by YAM Tunku Tan Sri Imran ibni Tuanku Jaafar, Founding Secretary of Championship organisers SRAM [Squash Racquets Association of Malaysia] and Gerard Monteiro of OMESTI Group, parent company of title sponsor and fibre internet provider OHANA Communications.

Co-Sponsor Dunlop continues to support the Nationals for the 7th year running by offering prizes to the top eight finishers in each division.

OHANA Supports National Squash Championships

550x188-Ohana

OHANA is continuing its commitment to Malaysia’s national sports development by taking up the Title Sponsorship of the 32nd National Squash Championships 2016. This year’s Edition, which takes place at the National Squash Centre, Bukit Jalil, from 15th – 20th November 2016, has attracted a large number of participants in multiple categories and looks set to be an exciting Tournament.

OHANA first tied up with SRAM under its Title Sponsorship of the recently launched OHANA-SRAM Squash League 2017 which is primarily targeted for social players, having the dual aims of reviving the League and popularising the game of squash.

When approached by SRAM to also be a supporting partner for the Nationals, Gerard Monteiro, Executive Director of OMESTI, was quick to confirm the company’s support, saying, “The Nationals is an important annual event for our national athletes and competitive social squash enthusiasts alike. As a company whose core business is connecting communities, we believe that it is only fitting that OHANA get involved and take up the Title Sponsorship role.”

SRAM Director Major (R) S. Maniam said, “SRAM is most thankful to OHANA for taking up the baton of sponsoring the Nationals. We are excited to be working with the OHANA team for this event and our upcoming Squash League in 2017 to promote and popularise this sport that we love.” He added, “We also record our sincere thanks and appreciation to Mr. Thomas Chan for his support of the Nationals for the past six years.”

Defending Champion Delia Arnold will be looking to retain her title in the Women’s Premier Event but should face stiff competition from Low Wee Wern, the 2014 Champion who is quickly coming back to form from an injury last year. Coming hard on their heels will likely be fast-improving S. Sivasangari, Rachel Arnold, Teh Min Jie and the other national juniors.

The Men’s title could have a new champion this year as Mohd Nafiizwan Mohd Adnan is currently competing overseas. In his absence, Ivan Yuen starts as favourite with keen competition expected from Sanjay Singh, Addeen Idrakie, Ng Eain Yow and Syafiq Kamal. Seasoned players such as Elvinn Keo, Asyraf Azan and Valentino Bong will also be hoping to make a bid for the title.

Co-Sponsor Dunlop continues to support the Nationals for the 7th year running by offering prizes to the top eight finishers in each division.
