DATO' JAGANATH DEREK STEVEN SABAPATHY
Non-Independent Non-Executive Director
Dato' Jagan's career began with leading London firm of chartered
accountants, Price Waterhouse. Returning to Malaysia in 1984, he joined KPMG Peat
Marwick as a Manager and was subsequently admitted as Partner in 1990. He was
involved in a wide range of assignments covering audit, investigations, management
consultancy/ IT consultancy and corporate finance in Malaysia, the ASEAN countries,
North America and Europe.
In late 1994, he left KPMG Malaysia to join
Benta Plantation Berhad as Executive Director. A year later, he was appointed as a
Director of Austral Lao Power Co Ltd, a position he held until 1997. He then joined
Prime Utilities Berhad and Indah Water Konsortium Sdn Bhd, Malaysia’s privatised
national wastewater utility, as Managing Director of both companies, positions he
held up to 1999. From 1999 until his retirement in 2013, Dato' Jagan served as Chief
Executive Officer / Director of Bandar Raya Developments Berhad
Group.
Dato' Jagan also sits on the Boards of Sime Darby Property Berhad
and OMESTI subsidiary Microlink Solutions Berhad.
ROBIN TAN WEE HOONG
Independent Non-Executive Director
Mr Tan has more than 25 years’ experience in capital markets,
corporate advisory and finance, particularly in Malaysia and Singapore. He has
worked for renowned Malaysian as well as regional securities houses including RHB
Bank Berhad and Kay Hian HSBC (now known as UOB Kay Hian). During his stint as
Director of Research at these and other organisations, Mr Tan was consistently
recognised as among the top equity analysts in Malaysia by respected financial
journals such as Asiamoney.
He has also been active via his private
consultancy practice in corporate advisory for public-listed companies, including a
number of reverse take-over transactions and general corporate
strategies.
He is currently an Executive Director of Landmarks Berhad,
the Malaysian public-listed hospitality and resort developer.
He holds a
Bachelor of Business (Accounting) from Deakin University, Australia.
Encik Syed Md Najib Bin Syed Md Noor
Independent Non-Executive Director
With over 30 years of leadership experience, Syed Najib has been instrumental in corporate transformation, telecommunications, logistics, and digitalization. He is currently the Director of Nuage Solutions Sdn. Bhd., a firm specializing in corporate transformation from inception to implementation.
His distinguished career includes:
- Advisor at Asia Cargo Network (2022-2023) – Advised on corporate strategy and fundraising for business expansion across Asia and the Middle East.
- Group CEO of Pos Malaysia Berhad (2018-2021) – Led business transformation, digitalization, and postal rate restructuring, securing a major change in postal regulation changes.
- GCEO of Altel Holdings Sdn Bhd (2017-2018) – Successfully restructured Altel Communications, Net2one and spearheaded the National Digital TV implementation via MYTV Broadcasting.
- Senior Executive Roles at Celcom Axiata Berhad (2005-2017) – Held key positions in international business, regulatory affairs, corporate sales, and as Chief of customer service and retail, playing a pivotal role in Celcom’s turnaround and 34 consecutive quarters of growth.
- Country Head for REACH (2001-2005) – Led operations in Malaysia and Indonesia for REACH, a joint venture between Telstra Australia and Hong Kong Telecom, managing international submarine cable infrastructure and telecommunications services. Successfully restructured former PCCW operations and secured REACH’s NSP license in Malaysia.
- AIMS Formis Berhad (1997–1999): Consulted for the shareholders transforming AIMS into a neutral co-location facility (later acquired by TIME DotCom).
- Esso Production Malaysia Inc. (1989–1996): Last role as a Functional Analyst, designing and implementation of SAP OPEX and CAPEX systems for offshore operations.
Beyond corporate leadership, Syed Najib is actively involved in industry and community initiatives, serving as a Committee Member of the Victoria Institution Old Boys Association (VIOBA) and Honorary Secretary of VIOBA Foundation. He is an alumnus of California State University where he obtains his degree in Management Science, and his MBA in MIS from National University Sacramento. He attended Insead-Axiata General Management Program.
